Show and Hide.
All in One.

A seamless blend of display and storage. This minimalist steel box shows the things you like and keeps the rest out of sight.

"Essentials within reach.
Without the visual noise."

Stop compromising between convenience and beauty. KaKuKo clears the clutter, bringing focus and calm to your space.

Always fits your life.

Stack, arrange, expand. Two sizes, three colours, stackable up to three high, and the drawer opens from whichever side suits the room. Your life may change; the way you use it does not.

One box. Every room.

For a retailer, that means one product across several departments — and a customer who comes back for the second and the third.

We make it ourselves.

KaKuKo is made by DAISHIN KOGYO CO.,LTD. — a family business headquartered in Osaka, founded in 1956 and now in its 70th year, with 100 employees and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification. Laser cutting, press brakes, welding, assembly and our own powder coating line are all under one roof in our own factory in Japan. The machines hold the dimensional accuracy. People do the finishing. That is why the drawer slides the way it does, and why the box still reads as a solid square when it is closed.

Europe is not new to us.

We have been looking at European furniture, and shipping steel abroad, for most of our seventy years.

1956
Our founder starts the company in his own house in Osaka and builds his first steel filing cabinet.
1962
He joins a delegation of Japanese office furniture makers travelling to Europe — two years before Japan lifted its restrictions on overseas travel.
1977
We develop knock-down steel furniture built specifically for export.
1985
50,000 knock-down cabinets shipped for export in a single year. Packing steel for freight is not new to us.
1988
We begin importing and selling ergonomic chairs from Martin Stoll of Germany. That chair is still in our office, with its five-language manual in the pocket under the seat.
2026
Our 70th year. We are preparing to send something in the other direction.
